Petey Pablo has been released from prison after completing a 2-year bid for gun smuggling, reports TMZ.

The North Carolina emcee was arrested at Raleigh Durham Airport on September 11, 2010 after police say he tried to take a stolen gun through airport security.

The Grammy-nominated rapper was sentenced to 35 months behind bars, but was released today, ahead of schedule.

Petey says he's ready to get back into the game and has already linked up with Timbaland, the producer behind Pablo's 2001 smash hit "Raise Up."

"I'm now headed to the work shop," states Pablo. "To begin what will be noted as my best work ever with one of the greatest producers of all time."

"See ya in a few, shirt still spinning!"
