Unlike other NBA players, Kobe Bryant receives his paycheck in one lump sum payment per his negotiated contract, which he got on Nov. 1, to the sum of $24 million. His whole salary for the season is $30,453,805, and the remaining $6 million will be paid out over the course of the rest of the season.

After his devastating Achilles tendon tear back in April, there's still no firm timeline for Kobe's return to the court. It was projected that he would be out for six to nine months, and it has been pointed out several times that his contract expires on June 30. The Lakers have made it clear they have every intention to re-sign Kobe beyond his current contract, but the amount of the contract is still up in the air.
