A popular NBA player has gone off the record to speak candidly with TMZ about recreational drug use in the league, in light of the media focusing on Lamar Odom's alleged use.The unnamed player revealed that the NBA tests players four times per year, but after the fourth test players usually go all out with their drug use.
The source added that marijuana is prevalent in the league, but lean, a drink mixed with liquid Codeine cough syrup and soda, is the most popular drug among players. One player revealed that the drug was used during the most recent NBA playoffs.
He also estimated that around 30% of players use hard drugs like Ecstasy, Molly, and lean at some point in the season, but cocaine is unheard of amongst players. However, one insider feels as though the drug use among players has been reduced due to the increase of social media, and players being watched wherever they go.
