An integral figure in the Atlanta music scene died this earlier this week, and despite his impact, many residents of Atlanta didn't find out until now. Arnell Starr of "American Music Makers" died on Tuesday after suffering from a stroke. Fans of his 90s show are grieving over his passing and sending thanks for putting Atlanta on.

Jermaine Dupri tweeted yesterday, "Man!! I just herd Arnell Starr passed, if you a true Atlien you had to watch "American Rap Makers" he helped me introduce everyone #RIP."

Killer Mike added, "RIP Arnell Star. He gave shine to all Atlanta's 90s stars."

The aim of "American Music Makers" was to showcase Atlanta talent on TV. The show was originally called "American Rap Makers," but changed the name to allow a wider spectrum of talent.
