Lindsay Lohan made a puzzling decision recently, firing her longtime lawyer Shawn Holley who has been key in keeping Lohan out of prison on several occasions. Lohan hired Mark Heller instead, a New York lawyer who was reportedly suspended from practicing law for five years in 1994.

Holley was representing Lohan in her recent car crash case in which she allegedly lied to police, but now it seems Lohan will have to find new representation in the middle of the proceedings.

Lohan's decision doesn't make a whole lot of sense on lots of levels, given Holley was famous for keeping Lindsay out of the slammer. Her new lawyer doesn't seem to be an improvement, and the New York Times even reported that some lawyers refer to Heller as a "menace to the public".
