"Life is Good", Nas 11th studio album, only dropped last summer but already the Queensbridge hero is at it again with a new LP on the stove.

During a recent interview with the Associated Press, Nasir revealed that work on album #12 has begun.

"Yes. It has started. I must tell you. I can't stop now. I'm in a great zone," he said.

When asked to name his top hip hop album of 2012, Nas didn't hesitate before picking Kendrick Lamar's "good kid, m.A.A.d city" and Meek Mill's "Dreams & Nightmares".

"No disrespect to nobody else in rap music, but Kendrick Lamar. I'm really happy about his record. I needed that. His record reaches you. It gives you hope. ... Also, Meek Mill. His energy is amazing."

Kendrick and Meek must be beaming to get a bump from such a living legend of the game.

Do you agree with his album picks for best of 2012?
