It was reported on Wednesday that iconic former world boxing champion Hector "Macho" Camacho was wounded in a drive-by shooting that has left him in critical condition and on life support. Further reports say the onetime great fighter may even be brain dead as a result of his injuries.

Rapper 50 Cent, who has become an avid boxing fan over recent years, recently discussed the drive-by shooting of Camacho and shared his thoughts on the matter with MTV News.

"I heard he was shot in a drive-by and the chances of him making it are very slim. It's a tragedy," 50 said. "He's obviously someone that's a legend in the sport of boxing."

The G-Unit front man then focused his attention on Camacho Jr., Hector's son, and spoke highly of the young man, who's also a professional boxer.

"His son is tough. His son is a great fighter. I feel for his son in the actual case because he's following in his father's footsteps being a great athlete. But I don't much more about the actual scenario to comment on it."
