Last week, Hurricane Sandy touched down on the East Coast and left unspeakable destruction in its path. There were many lives lost during the superstorm, along with billions of dollars in damage, and like many celebs, Jay-Z has kept in mind those who have been affected by the storm and its aftermath.

"Reflecting on the first game in Brooklyn and thinking about the hurricane," Jay briefly wrote on his website.

The Brooklyn rap mogul also shared a photo of the Barclays Center basketball court where the Brooklyn Nets were able to capture a win during their opening game at the new arena.

"Thinking about being undefeated and all the losses/wins that lie ahead. Life will always throw adversity and tragedy at us. We remain resilient!" he continued. "Heartfelt prayers go out to those who lost their lives and to the families who continue the fight."

Jay's wife, Beyonce, also shared a similar sentiment as she too took to her own site and listed ways in which people can help out others in this time of need.
