The rampant violence that occurs in the city of Chicago has been well documented over the past few months. The number of killings that have gone down are of a staggering proportion and it doesn't seem as if an end is in sight to the level of tragedies. Now it has spread into the rap community, as a 16-year-old young man by the name of Joseph Coleman, known by his rap name Lil Jojo, was murdered Tuesday night over a senseless rap beef that went too far. He released a diss song aimed at his adversaries and even recorded a video of himself engaging in an argument with his enemies.
Law enforcement says Lil Jojo was slain on the 6900 block of South Princeton Avenue at around 9 p.m. Tuesday night. Police officials found his unresponsive body on the street, destroyed by a gunshot wound. Witnesses says he was riding a bicycle when a gunman in a van rode alongside him and shot him at least once, according to police.
According to the Cook County medical examiner's office, he was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
