U.S. Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas almost quit the sport that would eventually have her shining. The gymnast spoke to Oprah Winfrey for her new talk show, and revealed a history of bullying in her past.

Douglas explained that the treatment she received from her teammates at her training facility in Virginia became so intolerable and debilitating, she decided to quit the sport altogether. The girls isolated her and kept her from their group, as well as constantly making racist jokes. Douglas says in one instance, when they needed to clean their equipment, one girl exclaimed, "Why doesn't Gabby do it, she's our slave?" Douglas reportedly "would come home at night and just cry [her] eyes out."

It's a shame Douglas was bullied, but it's rewarding knowing she made it to the Olympics and excelled. Success is the best revenge.
