Rihanna's interview with Oprah was a very emotional one.  As many expected Oprah questioned her about Chris Brown, not only the beating but their relationship as a whole after so much time has past.  Even though Brown sent Rihanna to the hospital, and was put on five years probation with 180 days of community service for the violent assault, the pair have managed to rebuild some sense of friendship that was lost years ago on that horrible night in 2009.

According to Rihanna, they are now once again close friends, however she claims that their current relationship hasn't gone any further than that just yet.  However, she did admit that she still loves him and that won't ever change.

"We've been working on our friendship again.  Now we're very, very close friends. We built a trust again, and that's it.  We love each other, and we probably always will.  That's not something you can shut off if you've ever been in love."

She denied that they have crossed the line into romantic boundaries when asked by Oprah, for Chris is currently in a relationship with Karrueche Tran.

"No. He's in a relationship of his own. I'm single. But we've maintained a close friendship since the restraining order's been dropped. We've just worked on it little by little. And it has not been easy. It's not easy.  It's awkward. It's awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops. I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me. I have to maintain that and suppress it.  I think he was the love of my life."
