It's only been a few days since the tragic death of NFL veteran Junior Seau, but as difficult as it may be for the family, they're looking to move on with memorial proceedings.

The family is preparing to hold a public memorial for the hard-hitting linebacker so that fans can come and say their goodbyes to one of the best defensive players to ever lace up a pair of cleats.

The public memorial will commence in California, according to TMZ, and will be a separate service from the family's private gathering.

The family has not set a timetable as to when the memorials will take place, but you can expect some more information in the near future.

The delay may be in part because the family decided to donate Seau's brain to a facility for research on concussions. He was 43-years old.
