Conor McGregor has been catching a lot of flack for the nature of some of the comments he's made while on his promotional run through New York City over the past several days. Over the course of three days, during which he and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have gone head-to-head for successive press conferences, McGregor has drawn controversy for referring to Floyd as 'boy,' and attempted to shut critics down by denying he could be racist. But those remarks paled in comparison to something the UFC champ said before a Jimmy Kimmel Live audience.

Both Mayweather and McGregor were approached by Kimmel's sidekick Guillermo following their first presser. Both were asked how they think they would do vs. "Rocky 3." Mayweather recalled the film Guillermo was referring to as the sequel in which he lost to, and then avenged his defeat against Clubber Lang (played by Mr. T). McGregor recalled the film's cast in a more shocking light. "Rocky 3... I'm trying to think which one was Rocky 3. That was the one when he had them at celebrity gym [sic] the dancing monkeys in the gym and all," McGregor said.

Mayweather would eventually hear about McGregor's monkey remark and address it following their heated confrontation on stage on Thursday, July 13. "He called Blacks monkeys. That's totally disrespectful," said Floyd.
