Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. had their first promotional appearance together on Tuesday for their August 26th fight at the T-Mobile Arena.
McGregor was met with backlash when he taunted Floyd in L.A. on Tuesday. He apparently told Floyd "Dance for me, boy!" McGregor's comment was seen as offensive considering the racist history attached to "boy" in American race relations. Floyd's reaction to this? He sat back and smiled.
Despite black leaders across the country disapproving the comment, Conor took the mic at the media event in Toronto and said it again. Possibly realizing that he had gone too far, McGregor quickly changed his comments to, “Dance for me, sir. Dance for me!"
Floyd Mayweather Sr. told TMZ Sports how he felt about the comment. "Racist? I don't know what that got to do with race," Mayweather Sr. said. "This is a boxing match. I don't know what that got to do with no racists."
Do you believe McGregor had racist intentions?
