Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor held their third joint press conference to promote their fight in Las Vegas next month, and as has been the case for the past two nights, the Irish UFC champ added more fuel to a fire that one of the two fighters will enter the ring and extinguish on August 26. One of the points of controversy that have already emanated from Mayweather and McGregor's series of NYC faceoffs has been McGregor's reckless use of the word "boy," which many identify as a demeaning way to address a Black man since the days of slavery and Jim Crowe. McGregor addressed the backlash while on stage Thursday night, July 13.

"Let's address the race. A lot of media seem to be saying I'm against Black people. That's absolutely f**king rediculous. Do they not know I'm half Black? Yea... I'm half Black from the belly button down," McGregor gloated. "And just to show that that's squashed. Here's a little present for my beautiful Black female fans."

Both Mayweather and his father have dismissed McGregor's use of the word as nothing more than smack talk. Light heavyweight champ Andre Ward has also chimed in, saying he doesn't like when White people use the word "boy" in reference to Black men. But he, like Mayweather, say that it is an issue that will be resolved when the fighters meet in the ring.
