Two of this year's biggest artists in hip-hop weren't happy about their exclusion from the 57th annual Grammy Awards.
YG took to social media to vent out about his Grammy snub Friday as the nominations were announced. The Bompton rapper's studio debut album, My Krazy Life was loved by fans and critics alike, making it a contender for album of the year. However, YG's buzz wasn't enough for him to earn a slot for "Best Rap Album," as those honors went to Iggy Azalea for The New Classic, Wiz Khalifa for Blacc Hollywood, ScHoolboy Q for Oxymoron, Common for Nobody's Smiling, Eminem for The Marshall Mathers LP2 and Childish Gambino for Because the Internet. YG hopped on Instagram to show love to Iggy and ScHoolboy for their nominations, but questioned his absence.
"Is you serious? @groovyq & @thenewclassic 4sho. But no YG ????" he captioned the photo.
DJ Mustard also shared the same sentiments since many of his hits were shut out like Tinashe's "2 On" and Chris Brown's "Loyal" and "My N****," the platinum selling single with YG. The producer retweeted support from his fans and spoke out on the snub on Instagram.
"I hustle cause I have to not because it's cool and over time became accustomed to the bulls*** n***** do now I'm num and it's cool had to bounce back and regroup hope u don't expect s*** from me cause I don't won't shit from you !!! I'm Ballin like I'm supposed to! #10summers"
YG also released "2015 Flow" produced by Mustard shortly after the snub. The two also promised bigger and better music for next year.
