San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick's homage to Breast Cancer Awareness Month has cost him $10,000 after the NFL fined him for wearing Beats By Dre headphones on camera just days after the league instated a new ban on the popular headphone line.

According to Sports Grid, Kaep was seen wearing the pink headphones during a post-game press conference this past Sunday.

Kaepernick took to Instagram to address the incident, stating in a photo caption that he wore the headphones in of honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and more specifically his grandmother, a breast cancer survivor.

"I support breast cancer awareness! My grandma is a survivor," he said. "Some things are now important! #IDontGetTired #WhoDoYouLove #Se7enPounds"

With the league signing a new, exclusive sponsorship deal with Bose, players have been forbidden to wear competitors' headphones on NFL programming.

Kaepernick, a Beats By Dre celebrity endorser, refused to comment on whether or not the company would be covering the fine for him.
