Jay-Z & Beyonce Nearly Finished Trademarking "Blue Ivy"

While Beyonce has been dodging rumors of lip synching the National Anthem at Obama's inauguration, she and Jay-Z have furthered their process of trademarking their daughter Blue Ivy's name. On Tuesday, the US Patent and Trademark Office posted notice that the couple's application to trademark "Blue Ivy" showed no opposition.

Now, Beyonce and Jay-Z have to prove within the next three years that they are using the patent in some product, which could be very interesting.

Yes, there is an existing entity named "BLUE IVY". Perhaps owner is savvy enough to ride the wave of ALL the free publicity from "The Carters". Perhaps "The Carters" agreed not to produce any items in area of original "BLUE IVY". There are MANY sections in trademarks.

I think they have gone too far, to trade mark a child's name or anyone's name is totally absorb. It's already a force to be reckoned with being born to those two and then to have a name that is patented like laundry detergent or a product made for shoes (just using an example). Where is it going to place this child at later in life?

Its going to place this child way ahead of yours in life because her parents are thinking about the future. What theyre doing is brilliant and Im sure you will be purchaseing the new Blue Ivy whatever when it comes out.
