Roy Moore's spokesman was left at a loss for word during an on-air appearance just hours before Moore's Senate election loss. During a spot on CNN with Jake Tapper, Ted Crockett discussed an issue Roy Moore brought up with Muslims swearing on the bible before taking an oath of office. Crockett was defending the claim that Roy Moore made stating that Muslims couldn't serve in Congress due to their religious belief. Crockett attempted to make the point that swearing on the bible was mandatory but Jake Tapper schooled Crockett on the law involving religious books and swearing an oath of office.

Tapper informed Crockett that it's the choice of the elected official as to which religious text he or she uses as they are sworn into office. "You don't actually have to swear on a Christian Bible, you can swear on anything, really," said Tapper. "I don't know if you knew that. You can swear on a Jewish Bible. The law is not that you have to swear on a Christian Bible. That is not the law. Did you know that?"

Safe to say from the clip above that Ted Crockett had no clue.
