When artists pass away sales of their merchandise often go up as well as their valuation. Earlier this week, Lil Peep died at the young age of 21. His candor about dealing with depression and suicidal ideation touched many of his fans, and now they're showing their reverence for the emo-rapper through purchases of his merch and messages on social media.

Sales on the rapper's official merch store have increased exponentially, with everything selling out since the time of his death. All the items from his windbreakers, hats, hoodies, everything on Peep's merch site has been sold. It's unclear whether or not there will be a restock.

An official cause of death has not yet been determined, but medical examiners believe Lil Peep's use of the anti-anxiety drug Xanax may have played a role. "The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner contracts toxicology testing with an independent reference laboratory," said Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Gregory Hess in a statement Thursday (Nov. 16). "Comprehensive toxicology testing may take several weeks to perform depending on the results of the testing and volume of the laboratory."

Lil Peep was very open about his drug use, often posting videos and pictures of himself taking several pills at a time. The day before his death, he posted a video after he had taken six Xans. His death has brought more awareness to the current opioid epidemic in hip-hop.
