Joel Embiid has a noted disdain for the outspoken basketball father LaVar Ball and has taken a few jabs at him and his sons in the past. Back in July Embiid and the head of the Ball clan were in a back-and-forth over social media/media outlets questioning one another's basketball acumen, intellect, etc. LaVar's last words to Embiid were "He should be worried about playing." Those words could not have been truer after Joel Embiid's Philadelphia 76ers faced off against Lonzo Ball and the Lakers.
Embiid balled out dropping 46 points, 15 rebounds, 7 blocks, and 7 assists in a 115-109 victory at Staples Center in Los Angeles. After such a great performance Embiid thought it apropos to throw some shade toward the Balls with an IG post of him bullying down the lane for an apparent 2-pt bucket over none other than Lonzo Ball. He captioned the pic, "WHAT A NIGHT!!!!! #TheProcess."
It's clear that Embiid enjoyed his performance but being able to put on a show like that against Lonzo Ball made it even sweeter considering the history.
