Van Jones appeared on the Wendy Williams Show and addressed Meek Mill's recent prison sentencing. "...But look at what he actually did. He popped a wheelie; He got his wisdom tooth pulled out so he got hooked on percocets; Went to rehab, told them he was going so they got confused about that...", said Jones. He further expressed that Meek Mill doesn't deserve to be in jail.
Meek Mill's sentencing has drawn outrage, especially in the Hip Hop community. Recently, Jay Z shared his thoughts on social media about the situation saying: The sentence handed down by the Judge -- against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer -- is unjust and heavy handed. We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career."
Other rappers such as T.I. and Nipsey Hussle have shown their support as well. Mill's attorney plans on appealing the sentence.
