Judge Genece Brinkley has been thrust into the spotlight since she sentenced Meek Mill to 2-4 years in prison for violating his parole. Many believe that the judgment was unfair, including Meek's lawyer Joe Tacopina, who claims Brinkley had a vendetta against Meek Mill for not dropping Roc Nation and signing with her friend.

Now, a 2016 interview with Brinkley has surfaced, which shows her talking about her work in Philadelphia schools with the ACE program and being a judge for over 20 years. She also spoke about teaching people lessons and helping people change their lives when they come in her courtroom and pointing out a success story of one man that went on to work for a Fortune 500 company.
