Philly rapper Meek Mill was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison for parole violations on Monday (Nov. 6). Since then, many celebrities and fans have taken to social media to denounce the harsh ruling. Jay once again spoke up in support of Meek during the Dallas stop of his 4:44 tour last night (Nov. 7).

"Just give me like two seconds, and we'll keep the show going, but I've got to say something about a young man by the name of Meek Mill," opened up Hov. "He caught a charge when he was, like, 19. He’s 30 now; he’s been on probation for 11 years. F**king 11 years...The judge just violated him; he's got to do two to four years because he got arrested for being on a bike and popping a f**king wheelie. Still n***a.” Jay continued to relate the case to the themes of being Black in America that litter his 13 studio LP, "This 4:44 album is all about us moving forward and moving past it. In order for us to move past all the sh*t that we're going through. Black people, in particular, we gotta get our sh*t together. You're not second-class to anybody."

Since his sentencing, Meek's attorney has accused the Philadelphia judge, Genece Brinkley of having a vendetta against the rapper. He claims the behavior was unprofessional, with claims of Brinkley requesting Meek to remix a Boyz II Men song, and asking the rapper to leave Roc Nation for her friend's management team.
