Hall of Fame boxing commentator Jim Lampley decisively called the Floyd Mayweather, Connor McGregor fight a “set-up,” and accused the undefeated boxer of “throwing” the first three rounds of the fight in order to generate interest for a rematch.

Lampley recently spoke with TMZ where he shared his unadulterated opinion on the match-up and Floyd’s retirement. “Why should he retire?” said Lampley. “He created a marvelous scam with this whole thing. He allowed Connor to ‘win’ three rounds so the whole global MMA wish community could have something to latch onto. I think there’s a decent chance there are enough suckers out there, Floyd could maybe make another $150 million.”

Lampley was positive about Floyd throwing the first three rounds when further questioned by the TMZ reporter. He also thinks the recent work-out videos Floyd has been releasing are evidence of him considering a rematch with McGregor. “Why else is he putting videos of him working out? Why did he allow Connor McGregor to ‘win’ three rounds? Why did the whole thing last ten rounds?” asked Lampley. “It’s all a set-up.” Lampley credited his 30-years of experience in the field as the reason why he’s so sure that this was a partially staged effort by Mayweather and McGregor.
