The most talked-about boxing match of 2017—Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather, went down last night. The fight went 10 rounds and ended up being stopped by the referee after Mayweather delivered a series of blows that left McGregor stumbling off the ropes. Although Mayweather did not knock him out, he achieved a TKO since the fight was stopped shortly after the blows.

Leading up to the fight, McGregor was very confident and arrogant about his potential to win. However, he made sure after the fight that he gave “respect” to Mayweather. McGregor said “He had to change his style, fair play he did it. He’s composed, he’s not particularly fast, he’s not particularly powerful but he’s composed, he was making me throw, gotta give him nothing but respect.” McGregor went on to voice his frustration on the ref stopping the fight, saying “I thought it was a little early on the stoppage, I get like that when I’m tired, I get floaty. He should have let me keep going I thought.”
