Fantasy football fans who might have dropped a decent player to pick up one of Ezekiel Elliott's likely replacements were kicking themselves on Tuesday (Oct. 17). Meanwhile, Dallas Cowboy fans rejoiced about the news that the Pro Bowl running back's legal status, and playing status has once again taken a turn in their favor.

Just days ago the Texas court injunction that froze Elliott's six-game suspension in September, and has allowed him to continue playing, was overturned by a U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. Elliott's suspension was thereby reinstated and announced by the league, to go into effect immediately.

The move apparently pushed Elliott's team to petition for a temporary restraining order against the ruling, and it was granted by a District Judge in New York. Judge, Paul Crotty, issued the restraining order pending a decision by a different judge, Katherine Polk Failla, who will not be back from vacation on time to possibly prevent Elliott from playing next week, on Oct. 29, either.

Through 5 games played thus far, Elliott has piled up 393 rushing yards and two touchdowns, on 105 carries. These haven't proven to be the numbers put up by Elliott during his rookie campaign but not having the power back on the field definitely impacts the team, regardless of their 2-3 record with Elliott on the field through 2017 thus far.
