When life presents new and challenging opportunities its always good to be able to reach out to friends, family, mentors, etc. In the case of Chris Paul, when he was deciding on whether he should leave his then team the Los Angeles Clippers, for a new situation playing alongside James Harden in Houston. Paul decided to get some advice from JAY-Z on his impending decision. Not everyone has the luxury of opening up about career moves to one of hip-hop's most successful figures but Chris Paul took full advantage of his access. During their sit-down, Chris laid out how he felt Houston would serve him at this point in his career and exactly what he enjoyed about the city and style of play. Chris told JAY, Houston was a frontrunner simply because he was tired of having the ball in his hand so much. CP3 is lauded as the ultimate floor general but the weight of that responsibility has made Houston ideal because of the ascendance of James Harden as a top-5 player.
While the Chris gave JAY his breakdown for why he'd make the move to Houston, JAY appealed to the off-court matters that Chris would necessarily have to address before making a decision.
