It was announced on Monday, October 2, that LaVar Ball is taking his son LaMelo out of high school for his last two years to homeschool him. During an interview with ESPN, LaVar revealed that it was LaMelo's coach that was the deciding factor in taking his son out of school.
LaVar explained that he doesn't get along with the coaches at Chino Hills if they don't go along with his plan, adding that he feels like he built the school's name up in terms of basketball. When asked if he felt like LaMelo would be missing out by not attending high school, LaVar said that he has an active social life around his neighborhood aside from school.
