Trump is back to pushing his travel ban, with a new group of people who are the targets. This past Sunday, Trump signed off on restrictions for travelers coming from North Korea, Chad, and senior government officials and their families in Venezuela. These are the first countries outside of the initial Muslim countries listed in the ban to be included. The ban will bar the newly listed countries from getting non-immigrant visas and is set to go into effect on October 18.

The latest ban introduced by Trump is replacing the one presented before that was set to expire after 90 days. The previous policy banned travelers from Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, and Iran from coming to the US if they did not have a “credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.” According to reports, the latest ban actually lifted the restrictions on Sudan. Trump’s move to include North Korea in the latest version of the travel ban may only add more fuel to the fire between the United States and the rogue nation. Previously, Trump called Kim Jong-Un a “little rocket man,” and Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho noted during his speech to the United Nations this past Saturday that a missile strike towards the US was “inevitable” because of Trump’s constant insults towards North Korea.
