Russell Simmons is the newest individual to be added to the list to speak out on players not taking a knee. The Global Grind and Phat Farm founder took to Twitter to make the following statement after Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin decided to keep the team in the locker room during the singing of the anthem:

“Locking arms and staying in the locker room hiding is for bitches. I’m sorry I’m so upset. WTF. So we not sure if black lives matter,” Simmons tweeted Sunday.

He later apologized for calling the players "bitches" but stuck by his original opinion:

“I regret DEEPLY my choose of world [sic] But a coach coming out and saying we don’t wanna be politicized is not supporting your brother or BLM,” Simmons added.

The Seattle Seahawks began the interlocking of arms during a game on September 11th, 2016. The interlocking of arms was seen as an alternative to kneeling. At that time Russell Wilson made the following statement:

“In this country we’ve gone through so much. The African American community, we’ve gone through a lot. Not every police officer is a bad police officer. Not every African American is a bad person.”

What are your thoughts on the matter and what Russell Simmons had to say?
