Speculation over Lebron James' future with the Cleveland Cavaliers has run rampant over the course of the NBA off-season. Many believe that his plan is to boat from the franchise following the 2017-18 season. On Tuesday, September 12, another round of whispers began to circulate when he and his wife were spotted making a visit to the exclusive Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA.

At 12-years-old, Lebron's eldest son, Lebron Jr. is fast approaching high school. Thus, headlines have begun to trickle out about the trip out West possibly being a premature one that is indicative of where the Cavs great sees himself transitioning to next summer.

While one never can tell exactly what the stars hold for the future, several factors have played into fans' speculation. Early in August veteran sports writer Chris Sheridan, who was the first to break speculation about Lebron leaving Miami to return to Cleveland in 2014, reported on sources who allegedly informed him that Lebron had checked out on the franchise. "This will be LeBron's final season in Cleveland. He is 100 percent leaving. Relationship with owners beyond repair," Sheridan tweeted.

The tweet came in the weeks following the fall out between Lebron and Kyrie Irving, who's internal squabbles became public. Some, however, have contended that it was in knowing that LeBron will be leaving, that Kyrie stepped to Dab Gilbert to ask for a trade.
