September will be an eventful month for Biggie fans who love themselves a good documentary. Next week A&E sets off the first of two major hip hop biographies they've got coming down the pike, when ahead of a late year Tupac doc showing, the network airs Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G., on Labor Day. FOX is set to do one better, and combine both subjects when on September 24 it premiers the two-hour investigative crime special Who Shot Biggie & Tupac?
Who Shot Biggie & Tupac?, like Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G, proposes to bring viewers never-before-released audio of B.I.G. speaking. Whereas the late Brooklyn rapper will be detailing the making of Ready To Die in the A&E program, FOX's Who Shot Biggie & Tupac? will play a recording of Big discussing Tupac's shooting. Hip hoppers Doug E. Fresh and Funkmaster Flex will make cameos in the special, as will Suge Knight. Then there will be more personal interviews with such friends as Lil Cease and E.D.I. Mean of the Outlawz.
