A&E recently gave viewers the latest glimpse into its highly anticipated documentary Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G., with snippets of Jay-Z and Nas speaking on the late rap great's lyrical potency. The preview shows Big's legendary New York peers take turns reciting lyrics off of his storied "Who Shot Ya" track, before reflecting on the impression they got upon hearing his menacing bars more than two decades ago.

Fans will get a chance to watch the feature in full at 8PM ET/PT on September 4. It is the first of a new wave of hip hop themed productions the network is expected to deliver as it enjoys the relaunch of its famed Biography series. The Biggie documentary will be followed by a six-part docu-series on 2Pac, titled, "WHO KILLED TUPAC?" sometime during the final quarter of 2017.

The A&E production is expected to separate itself from past films on the Notorious One thanks to its airing of rare footage as well as unreleased audio that has been tapped from the vaults of hip hop journalist Cheo Hodari Coker. The Mark Ford project will go in depth with insight from Violetta Wallace, Faith Evans and friends from his old Bed Stuy stomping grounds, and will also feature interviews with Diddy, Lil Cease, Lil Kim and the other members of the Junior Mafia family.
