Recently, wide receiver Lucky Whitehead was cut from the Dallas Cowboys after news broke of him allegedly shoplifting from a store in Virginia and failing to appear in court after being arrested for the crime. Whitehead immediately told the press that he was not even present in Virginia at the time of the crime, and that police arrested another person who provided the wrong information. It turns out that Whitehead was telling the truth, as Prince William County police in Virginia admitted that the man who was arrested provided false information.

Police said the man that was arrested did not have any type of ID with him at the time but provided a name, social security number, and date of birth for Rodney Whitehead Jr., Lucky’s real name. Prince William County police issued a statement saying, “At this point, the police department is also confident in confirming that Mr. Whitehead's identify was falsely provided to police during the investigation.” Authorities are still on the hunt for the correct identity of the man arrested. Despite being cleared of the charges, the Cowboys currently have no intentions of bringing Whitehead back.
