Reports surfaced about a June arrest of third-year Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead in Virginia on Monday, July 24. A warrant was issued for the athlete, who failed to show up for a July 6 arraignment, after being initially being pegged with a misdemeanor petty larceny charge for shoplifting two weeks earlier.

According to reports, Whitehead was arrested on June 22, when at around 1:30 am authorities were called to respond to a theft at a Manassas WAWA convenience store. An employee of the store claimed that Whitehead took off with merchandise he had not paid for. Police arrived in time to locate Whitehead in the parking lot where he was arrested. He was later charged with petit larceny under $200 and released on a court summons.

Whitehead is due back in court on August 10.
