LeBron James was in attendance for Lonzo Ball's best performance of the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League to date. Wednesday night, Ball went for 36 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks in the Lakers’ 103-102 win over the 76ers.

NBA Twitter grabbed a hold of two plot points: that Lonzo opted to wear Nike Kobe's instead of his own Big Baller Brand ZO2 sneakers, and that LeBron's attendance might've signaled that he's considering joining the Lakers in free agency next summer.

LeBron said he was in Vegas to work with players on the Cavs Summer League team. But he also acknowledged he was impressed with Lonzo. "He can really pass it," LeBron told ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Likewise, Lonzo reasonably explained his choice in sneakers on SportsCenter: "At BBB you can wear whatever you want," he said, "I already played with both my shoes. Might as well just get the Mamba mentality going."

The 2017 NBA off-season storylines continue to entertain.
