ESPN was present at the Ball household as the picking order for the 2017 NBA draft was revealed, and suffice to say the family seemed pretty stoked when it was announced that the Lakers had secured the number two spot.
When asked for his reaction to the news, father Lavar Ball responded with his usual exuberance.
"I told [Lonzo] he was gonna go to the Lakers!" said Lavar. "I'm gonna speak it into existence. Boston gonna take their Markelle Fultz, he's a good player. I think he fits best with Boston. You can't bring him to L.A.--he ain't ready for this," Ball continued.
"Only one player ready for this: it's that Ball boy! That Ball boy, number 2, the deuce is wild."
