Rumors of a brand new addition to the Friday franchise really took off a couple of months ago after Mike Epps, who plays the character Day-Day in the second and third films, posted an Instagram skit in which he discusses a new film with fellow Friday veteran John Witherspoon.
On Tuesday, the film trilogy's star Ice Cube appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden where he confirmed a final film in the series is ongoing.
After fellow guest Jason Derulo revealed that Friday is one of his favorite movies of all time, host James Corden asked Cube if he would ever consider making another one.
"Of course, of course, we're working on one right now," said Cube, shortly before revealing that the new film will be called Last Friday.
