Long Beach’s own Vince Staples is gearing up to release his long-awaited sophomore album, Big Fish Theory and he’s finally unveiled its release date, which is coming this week.

The “Norf Norf” rapper took to his Twitter account last night (May 14) to officially make the announcement through a series of somewhat cryptic tweets. “It's time to go crazy,” he said early that morning. Prior to that, he tweeted the date “5/19/17 12AM” with a link to his simple, yet artistic album cover via his Instagram that evening. It simply shows a fish inside a fishbowl behind a blue background which fits something that he told Complex a while back, saying he would like to explore "being larger than life in a smaller world”.

While details and singles have been scarce, the only new music he has dropped this year was his most recent single, “BagBak”. It is unclear though whether or not this song will appear on the album, but based on its joint visual, it is a good chance that it well.

The album, Big Fish Theory is set to drop this Friday, May 19 at midnight.
