Kim Kardashian-West opened up about the Paris robbery that cost her $10 million worth of jewelry last year, during an emotional interview on the Ellen show on Thursday, April 27. Ironically, the tears that came down her face while touching on the dramatic event, were tears of joy she said, as she described how it has impacted her to become less materialistic.

"It was meant to happen to me. I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things. It was probably no secret--and you see it on the show--I was being flashy and I was definitely materialistic before," Kim said while sitting across from host Ellen DeGeneres. "I just don't care about that stuff anymore. I really don't...I don't care to show off the way that I used to. Even though there's nothing wrong, truly, it's okay if you're proud of that and you work so hard and you get something. It's just not who I am anymore."

It was apparent that Kim has made the life changes she was talking about, with one good glance up and down her body revealing that she no longer walks around iced out in diamonds. For Kim, it was a sacrifice that she now looks at as having been made with the best intentions in mind. "I'm so happy that my kids get this me," she said.
