United Airlines recently dealt with the backlash of forcefully removing a man from their plane. Now, another lawsuit has been filed against the company after Columbia graduate student Karen Shiboleth claimed she was forced from her business class seat all the way to the back of the plane without any reason provided.

During the removal, Shiboleth claims she was called a name as well. According to the NY Daily News, the woman was moving to London this past summer for her graduate school program and she boarded a United Airlines flight to Heathrow Airport. Shiboleth decided to upgrade her seat, which cost her about $3100 dollars.

Her lawsuit states, "The upgraded BusinessFirst ticket was to ease the burden of her move, improve the care and safety of her personal belongings, and provide convenience from the stresses that accompany moving — especially moving to a new country nearly halfway across the world." From there, the suit says that Shiboleth noticed there were many empty seats in the BusinessFirst section. However, the woman alleges that an attendant came on the plane and removed her from the seat with no explanation.

The suit then says that the staff member grabbed her arm "without consent and forced" the student to a middle seat located in the back of the plane. Along with that, the employee allegedly called the student a "c*nt" in front of other flight passengers. Shiboleth is seeking $150,000 dollars in damages from United.
