The Migos say comments they were cited as having made about iLoveMakonnen coming out as gay during a recent interview with Rolling Stone were not as deep as the magazine made them out to be.

TMZ caught up with the Atlanta trio on Tuesday, March 28, and got them to address the matter once more. After headlines spread about the early March story, the group apologized for the remarks through a formal statement. In the days that followed they would make further attempts at damage control, citing a record they had recently made with openly bisexual artist Frank Ocean as an indicator of neutrality towards peoples' sexual preference.

Fans will recall Migos coming under fire when the reporter who covered their Rolling Stone feature quoted such responses as "The world is not right," and "Because the world is f***ed up," to news of some fans supporting iLoveMakonnen's decision to come out of the closet and declare himself gay. The story had died down as the month wound down, but this past week a new exclusive put out by FADER revived the controversy on the basis of Makonnen questioning Migos' supposed friendship, and posing that they only apologized to save face.

Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset didn't appear to be on the same page concerning several questions posed by TMZ, including one which asked whether they'd consider performing at a gay club, to which Offset objected, but Quavo quickly asserted that he would if the money is right. One thing each of the members could agree on, is their belief that the press has made a mountain out of a mole hill on the issue. They say the reporter twisted their words, and that the whole thing has been "blown out of proportion."
