Q-Tip recently reflected on his friendship with Phife Dawg, his fellow member of A Tribe Called Quest who passed away 2 weeks ago. He tweeted, "I miss my lil brotha so much right now.... He is my hero. I've never seen such a fighter."
"He left me with the gift of unconditional love and brotherhood that will NEVER be lost with me... Ever" stated Q-Tip "I will be praying for us all as we move through life's highway that we all will continue to fight for love and joy. I love u Malik."
Q-Tip and Phife Dawg have not always seen eye to eye. Like many other iconic crews, Tribe had some bumps in the road. The 2011 documentary Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest, directed by Michael Rapaport outlines some of the challenges the duo faced while in the group together.
The two went on to patch up any differences they had while maintaining solo careers.
