In an interview with BET, the former Roc-A-Fella artist discussed his how he's healing and what he has planned next. Leading up to his "FreeFrest Music Festival" in his hometown, the rapper was rushed into surgery after he was diagnosed with kidney failure last week. "I had a routine physical with my primary care doctor. I gave blood one day and I went on the road for the weekend," he said. "Then I came back and I was at home lying in bed and I got a call from my primary care physician who told me to get to the closest emergency room because my levels was off. My kidney functions was real low and everything was just out of wack. I didn't know what it was. I was just in tears."

Since undergoing his treatments, the rapper has kept fans updated on his status through social media. He also spent time with Beanie Sigel and Young Chris after hopping back in the booth.

Freeway added his FreeFrest event will take place at a later date.
