Jason Pierre-Paul is staying positive since losing his right index finger in a fireworks accident on July 4.The New York Giants defensive end tweeted for the first time on Sunday afternoon, speaking on his faith about the incident.

ESPN reports Pierre-Paul hasn't allowed Giants doctors to examine his hand. Friends and family of the player say that he will be able to return to the field this season, despite the fact his contract hasn't been reinstated.Pierre-Paul tweeted that the accident wasn't a setback in his career. After making a typo in his tweet, he followed up with a joke about his finger.

In addition to the loss of his finger, Pierre-Paul also sustained other injuries on his hand, worrying Giants fans. Giants defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins told reporters on Thursday the player is in high spirits. 

"His attitude is, this [injury] kind of put things in perspective for him," Jenkins said. "He realizes things could have been worse, although he's in good spirits when I talk to him. He knows he has to work and get right, and he knows it's not going to be easy."
