History seems to be sadly repeating itself, this time in St. Louis, Missouri. This time around comes after activists went down to Ferguson for peaceful protests exactly one year after unarmed Mike Brown was shot and killed by former officer, Darren Wilson.

According to NBC News, a throng of demonstrators beat on drums and shouted "if we don't get no justice, then they don't get no peace." Some hopped a temporary gate and sat outside of the Thomas F. Eagleton Federal Courthouse, including activist Cornel West. 20 minutes later authorities arrived and arrested them all, including Mr. West.

St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger says "the recent acts of violence will not be tolerated in a community that has worked so tirelessly over the last year to rebuild and become stronger." Following this statement, he declared a state of emergency for the city of St. Louis.

Last night, 18-year-old Tyrone Harris was shot by police after allegedly firing shots at an SUV filled with plainclothes detectives. Harris - who's reportedly a friend of the slain Mike Brown - was critically wounded following a night of looting by several protesters. Governor Jay Nixon addressed the riots, stating that "those who terrorize communities with gunfire and commit violence against police officers are criminals, and their reprehensible acts must not be allowed to silence the voices of peace and progress."
