Recently, the California state senate honored Kendrick Lamar by naming him as a generational icon, and now the TDE lyricist has earned another form of distinction as he has been chosen to cover Ebony magazine's June 2015 issue.
Lamar shared his thoughts about earning the cover, "This is Ebony's 70th anniversary [in publishing]. I feel honored, I feel privileged to be part of it. I'm one of a few Rap artists to actually grace the cover."
He then further explained his perspective, "They have done a whole spectrum of controversial covers with us as a culture and identifying ourselves and the world in general," added the good kid.
