Previously, it was noted that Marvin Gaye’s son—Marvin Gaye III was under investigation by the police after he allegedly pulled a gun on his cousin and wife while at his Los Angeles home. According to reports, the 57-year-old sped off in his Corvette following the alleged incident. Since then, Gaye has been arrested for domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon.
Gaye was arrested on Friday, January 13, and it was reported that the man allegedly assaulted his wife and cousin after they got into an argument over another assault.
Law enforcement sources say Marvin Gaye III turned himself in the next day around 5 PM and was booked on a felony assault with a deadly weapon charge and a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. Gaye was reportedly released after putting up a $50,000 bond. Following the release, Gaye was hit with an emergency protective order, which requires him to stay away from his family and the home. According to reports, the son of Marvin Gaye—Marvin Gaye III, is under investigation by the police for allegedly pointing a gun at his cousin at his Los Angeles home. From there, the 57-year-old reportedly sped off in his Corvette before the police could get to the residence.
Police responded to a “family dispute” at the Calabasas home of Gaye early Thursday night. Law enforcement sources say Gaye allegedly got into an argument with his wife and cousin, which escalated, resulting in Gaye pulling a gun on his cousin.
From there, sources claim Gaye sped off in his car. Police that arrived on the scene thought Gaye was still in the home, so they asked him to come out. However, neighbors on the scene informed the police Gaye had left already.
Marvin Gaye III has been identified as a suspect in an “assault” report taken by deputies. As of now, an investigation is taking place. Stay tuned for more updates.
