About 25 years ago, a new rap trio from New York named The LOX, appeared on what is largely considered two of the best hip-hop albums of all time: Life After Death (The Notorious B.I.G) and No Way Out (Diddy). Those classic guest features endured Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, and Styles P to the public long before the release of their highly anticipated debut album (Money, Power & Respect). With three albums by The Lox in the rearview mirror, along with six solo LPs, Styles P recently announced his plans to retire sometime in 2023. Despite his intention to step away from the rap game, the Yonkers native also promised that he would drop two more albums beforehand and that he would remain available to his bandmates in The LOX for more collaborations in the future.

“I will be retiring late 2023 as far as my solo career is concerned,” Styles P wrote on Instagram. “I have two more solo projects for y’all and I’m Out!!! I’ll be on deck for all things LOX music, shows etccc...I say this with a deeper over standing of self and evaluating the status of my own mental health,” he continued writing. “I have noticed I have become less spiritually healthy than I used to be. I believe I have run myself down a tad bit over the past few years. Being a super hard working emcee and a health advocate. I thought about it harder and came to the conclusion that I need to walk away from my solo career period ( I think I gave y’all enough ).”
